GetlitNaija is an online platform to discover new generation of poets, writers, and literary journalists who want to express themselves and hone their craft. We work with the philosophy that ‘everyone is a poet in a way’ and create ways change to the narrative from being poetry is mystic and undecipherable into a form of Art that is fun, attractive and easy to relate with, while also lending our voices to address social issues that affect our daily lives.
GetlitNaija Spoken-word Poetry Competition successfully commencing in 2018 have become the most prestigious online poetry competition in Nigeria working with renowned poets and judges such as Charles Ayo Dada, Obii Ifejika, and Daisy Odey. The first edition garnered over 122 online entries all over the country, with two poets emerging winners of the adult and junior categories; Chisom Irechukwu winning the prize money and Bosede Bisiriyu winning the secondary school scholarship.
