The competition is open to photographers living in Europe.
Short description
The competition is organized by the German Society for Nature Photography.
“ The European Wildlife Photographer of the Year is celebrating an anniversary this year: for 25 years, this competition has shown how diverse, innovative and touching contemporary nature photography can be.
There are 11 categories:

2/ Mammals
3/ Other Animals
4/ Plants & Fungi
5/ Landscape
6/ The Underwater World
7/ Humans and Nature
8/ Nature’s Studio
9/ Young Photographers
10/ Rewilding Europe Award
11/ Fritz Pölking Prize and Fritz Pölking Junior Prize – story and portfolio
Entry fee
The entry fee is 35€.
Young photographers category – entry is free.

• European Wildlife Photographer of the Year – 3,000€
• Fritz Pölking Prize – 2,000€
• Fritz Pölking Junior Prize – 1,500€ and merchandise voucher worth 500€
• Rewilding Europe Award – 1,000€
• Winners of categories 1-8: 1st place – 800€; 2nd place – 500€
• Young Photographers category: 1st place – 200€; 2nd place – 100€
