The 2025 Yeovil Literary Prize

Who may enter
The competition is open to anyone over the age of 16.

Short description
The competition is organized by the Yeovil Community Arts Association, England.

There are five categories:

Novel – Synopsis and Opening Chapters (combined maximum 10,000 words).
Short Story – Maximum 2,000 words.
Poetry – Maximum of 40 Lines.
Children’s and Young Adult Novel – First 3000 words plus a 500 word synopsis.
Writing Without Restrictions – This category is for work that does not fall into the normal competition categories.

Entries must NOT have been previously self-published, broadcast, or accepted for publication. Entries may have appeared online, but NOT in any commercial online form.

Novel: £18.50
Short Story: £10.50
Poetry: £8 per poem
Children’s and Young Adult Novel: £15.60
Writing Without Restrictions: £10

Novel: 1st £1350; 2nd £450; 3rd £200
Short Story: 1st £625; 2nd £275; 3rd £150
Poetry: 1st £625; 2nd £250; 3rd £150
Children’s and Young Adult Novel: 1st £625; 2nd £275; 3rd £150
Writing Without Restrictions: 1st £275; 2nd £150; 3rd £100
