Short description
The competition is organized by Overland, an Australian literary and cultural magazine.
“ Supported by the Malcolm Robertson Foundation, and named after the late Neilma Gantner, the 2024 Neilma Sidney Short Story Prize seeks excellent short fiction of up to 3000 words themed around the notion of ‘travel’; imaginative, creative and literary interpretations are strongly encouraged.
Stories must be unpublished (including online). Stories that have won or are under consideration in other competitions are not eligible.
Entry fee
$12 AUD for subscribers and $20 AUD for non-subscribers.
Prizes
The winner will receive $5,000 AUD and their short story will be published in Overland.
Two runners-up will each receive $750 AUD.
